Our Second Hike as a Team (April)

Picture: Julie (Train to Climb alum), Tori (organizer extraordinaire, climbing Mt. Adams), and Tom (Theora's Dad and comedian).

So, where did we go? Answer: Lower Big Quilcene

Website: Lower Big Quilcene Trail Information

Distance: 5 miles, 10 miles round trip. We actually hiked 12 miles, passing up Camp Jolley by accident.
Agggghhhh.... Camp Jolley. And we only discovered it because a family was perched on a log enjoying their lunch. Yes, they looked quite jolly.

About this experience: We are constantly amazed at the beauty that Washington has to offer. While this hike was low elevation, it was an opportunity to test our endurance. We hiked for 6 hours!

We actually trekked through snow the last 1.5 miles, crossed 2 streams, and had the chance to practice those pesky side steps Michael has been telling us about. :)

Here was my view for most of the hike... Tim's boots!

Eventful Event: Someone's heart-rate monitor jumped ship into a stream.
It was saved - thanks Richie! Michael often sees things. There must have been something shiny...
